Poverty Levels in The US

Politicians, bloggers, the news media and ordinary people frequently use the term poverty level without defining it. It is frequently used to imply that if your income is above poverty level you are financially secure. For the record here are the 2010 Poverty Guidelines.

The 2010 Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia

8 37,010
For families with more than 8 persons, add $3,740 for each additional person.
